I first climbed on Dan’s homewall, AKA the Elderwall, in 2016, and I can say without a doubt it’s the hardest board that I’ve climbed on (and I’m a connoisseur of hard boards).
Not only that, but it’s gotten HARDER as it’s been out in the elements for longer and the holds have lost all their texture.
The goal of this video was to show what a real session looks like when you’re pushing yourself on hard boulders—where the reality often involves much more falling and much less sending. I tried to give tips and thoughts about warming up, projecting, and other random things that came to mind throughout the session to keep things interesting :) thanks to Tom for the good vibes and cameos throughout the vid! You can also always count on Dan to give excellent color commentary to any climbing session.
