I have been asked to make a batch of aluminum connecting rods from a billet bar of 7075-T6 aluminum. Since most rods are cast then machined several step of the production is saved, but as I am starting from scratch, there is a lot of step involved to make the rods. I did not find any video online on this, as clearly company that makes aluminum rods have no intention of showing how they make them. This is part 1 of 2 video, this part shows how to get the cap and the rods prepared to be bolted together as well as some rods machining. All of the good stuff will happen in the next video! Thanks for watching!
