Cold Wax Oil Painting for Beginners

Today's video is for all you beginners who want to give cold wax + oil painting a try. I wanted to show you all the tools and methods for using this fun cold wax medium. It is so forgiving and fun to play with -- I think you will love using cold wax in your art. You can use it in a variety of ways and on several different substrates, like canvas panels, cradled wood panels, and oil paper. You can use water mixable oil paint as well as solvent-based oil paint with the cold wax, so no worries about solvents if you are affected by those. It is recommended that you not use stretched or rolled canvas due to its flexibility….the wax can crack when painted on canvas. Hard canvas panels should be okay if you really want to use canvas.
