Dr. Colón is an author of the book Be Committed! Get Admitted., founder of College Essay Bootcamp and host of Destination YOUniversity podcast. She holds a B.A. from the Annenberg School of Communication at USC, a Master of Arts in Higher Education Administration from Teachers College, Columbia University, and a Doctorate of Education from UCLA.
As a Principal, her leadership and vision led to a dramatic turnaround at St. Bernard High School and over the years, Dr. Colón led fundraising efforts, bringing in nearly 2 million dollars in renovations.
Prior to becoming a Principal, Dr. Colón spent 12 years at Marymount High School in LA, as the Director of College Counseling, Assistant Academic Dean, and Dean of Students.
As a former Assistant Director at Vassar College in New York, she was responsible for recruitment in seven states throughout the country. As the first to attend college in her family, Cynthia grew an intense passion for higher education.
