This Mini cargo bike was a bit of an experiment, I wanted to practice welding aluminum and also try out if widely available alloys would be strong enough for a cargo frame. So I picked a pretty old MTB frame for this and converted the front for a 20" fork and added a removable cargo rack as well as disc brake mounts. The tubing I used is AL-6060 because I can't get my hands on high strength alloys (yet.) I use 5356 filler wire and I suspect the frame is 6061 but I can't verify it. I don't do any heat treatment. I have used this bike for a month, it's strong enough to carry an adult in front and I haven't had any issues with cracking. The handling is super snappy! 📐 Etsy Store / Plans: https://www.etsy.com/shop/PhilVandelay 👕 SHIRTS / Merch Store: https://phil-vandelay.creator-spring.com/ 🙏🏻 Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/philvandelay 📷 Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/phil_vandelay/
