This Mini cargo bike was a bit of an experiment, I wanted to practice welding aluminum and also try out if widely available alloys would be strong enough for a cargo frame. So I picked a pretty old MTB frame for this and converted the front for a 20" fork and added a removable cargo rack as well as disc brake mounts.
The tubing I used is AL-6060 because I can't get my hands on high strength alloys (yet.) I use 5356 filler wire and I suspect the frame is 6061 but I can't verify it. I don't do any heat treatment. I have used this bike for a month, it's strong enough to carry an adult in front and I haven't had any issues with cracking. The handling is super snappy!
