I am finally back with another completed Composition Notebook Junk Journal. This is Volume 6 and covers Sept-Dec 2023 and Jan-Feb 2024

For this DIY art journal, I use a regular composition notebook I picked up from Walgreens for a few bucks. A pro tip: get the ones made in Vietnam—they have better paper quality. I'm linking some if you are unable to find Vietnam-made composition books: https://amzn.to/4b5iYwM
I got creative with my stash of old stickers, scrapbooking rub-ons, and masking tape for the cover. I made pockets with old scrapbook paper too. It was so nostalgic, like being back in school!
These journals have become my go-to for tracking, writing, sketching, and using as a glue book junk journal. I filled it with stickers, magazine clippings, and bits of junk mail, inspired by the Wreck This Journal style.
I included everything from bills to clothing tags and product packaging. I loved gluing pages together to make them thicker, experimenting with new art supplies like Uniball Signo pens, and even playing around with wet tea bags on paper.
The process was incredibly freeing. Unlike my other art journals where I aim for perfection, this composition notebook allowed me to just have fun and experiment. It became a glue book, a tag book, a smash book—whatever you want to call it.
If you’ve ever thought about starting a composition notebook junk journal or DIY art journal, this is your sign. Let me know what you think of this flip-through and if you decide to try your own journal. Happy journaling, friends!
Unfortunately, Jenni Bowlin Studios isn't manufacturing supplies like the rub-ons anymore.
