We construct an optimised fixed framework for our solar panels from scratch, and mount and wire up the panels. We (my wife and I) are building a tiny house and homestead on a bare piece of land in the Western Cape province of South Africa, without outside help. We have no utility power on the farm, and our solar system consist of 10 (previously 12) x 330W solar panels, an 8kW Deye inverter, and 2 x 5 kWh lithium iron phosphate batteries. Previously, our panels was resting directly on the ground, and this led to an accident where our Rottweiler, Oberon, broke one of the panels (by jumping on the panel and a sharp rock punching it from below). This takes our solar power from 4kW max, to approximately 3300 W max.
