Containment feeding - lessons learned

Video Not Working? Fix It Now

Containment feeding - lessons learned Kangaroo Island sheep farmers Andrew (Aphid) Heinrich and Rick Morris have different containment feeding setups on their farms. In this video, Aphid and Rick outline some challenges encountered when building their containment areas and provide tips about what they would do differently - some good learning that could save other farmers time, stress and money! 👉 The State Government is investing $18 million to help farming communities affected by drought across South Australia. 👉 To help you set up a containment feeding area on your farm, visit PIRSA's drought webpage and apply for an On-farm drought infrastructure rebate. Primary producers can apply for rebates of up to 75% (to a maximum of $5,000 excluding GST) for on-farm drought infrastructure. 👋 Need help applying for funding? 🙌 Contact the Department of Primary Industries and Regions Principal Regional Advisor on Kangaroo Island Lyn Dohle on 0419 846 204 or email [email protected] or the KI Landscape Board's Sustainable Agriculture Facilitator Jim Mead at email [email protected] or phone 08 8553 2476. As the dry time continues for farmers, see the Kangaroo Island Land Landscape Board's 'Managing for Dry Times' webpage here: www.landscape.sa.gov.au/ki/land-and-farming/managing-for-dry-times-and-feed-budgeting More information and support for farmers is available at the Agriculture Kangaroo Island website: www.agki.com.au This project is a collaboration between the KI Landscape Board and Agriculture Kangaroo Island, supported by the SA Drought Resilience and Innovation Hub, one of eight Hubs established across Australia through the Australian Government's Future Drought Fund. #sustainableagriculture #farming #kangarooisland
