In this video you can see us harvesting our corn for silage. We had 2 hectares at home and 3 hectares that we bought, about 15 kilometers away from the farm.
Contractor came with Claas Jaguar 940, we've had 8 drivers bringing in the chopped corn, one on telescopic loader for pushing and levelling it in silage pits and two tractors for compacting.
We filled all our 3 silage pits, with 300 tons of corn chaff on a 5,85 ha.
We use two of our silos for winter feeding and one during the summer.
Under corn we also have grass silage that we prepared in the spring and summer.
Our home field is pretty steep on some areas, that's why we use smaller trailers on it.
Corn for silage is important crop on our farm. With high yield and nutrition value provides great energy source for our dairy cows.
