- Recipe Joulupuuro / Finnish Christmas porridge
3 dl water 1.5 dl of rice porridge (approx. 130 g) , 7 dl milk, 1/2 tsp salt, cinnamon, sugar, milk to pour over the porridge.
Boil the water in a saucepan. Add the rice and let it absorb into the rice. Add the milk and let the porridge simmer gently under the lid for about 40 minutes, stirring occasionally. Season with salt as you simmer. (In Finland, an almond is hidden in the Christmas porridge.)
Serve hot, sprinkle with a little cinnamon and sugar, add a little milk.
