I'm doing an easy glaze test this week that I think anyone can try to develop some of your own colors for hobby potters and home potters. I'm working with Mason Stains and a clear glaze to try to recreate the full color wheel. Will it work tho?? My Cone 6 Clear Glaze (Craze free on Laguna #16 Porcelain - milage may vary on your clay body) *100 gram batch* Nepheline syenite - 19.5g Whiting - 9.5g Flint - 33g EPK - 20g Frit 3134 - 18g Additives: Bentonite - 2g Note - if you've never mixed glazes before, add the dry bentonite to your dry glaze mix, put a tight lid on your container and shake it up a little (or however you can do it with out creating dust). You do NOT want to add bentonite to a liquid glaze, it clumps terribly bad. It is however a great suspension agent and will keep your glaze from settling to quick. I also use 80% water to mix this into a dipping glaze, so for a 100g batch add 80g H20.
