We've waited so long for this moment! After more than a year of starts and stops at the Dower House (thanks to bringing home Danteo, finishing the nursery, guest rooms, and everything downstairs), we can finally share how -- slowly but surely -- we’ve been creating a bedroom of our own!
The Dower House began as a modest cottage before a Georgian extension was added on the back, but over the centuries, various owners made some unfortunate "improvements.” They blocked windows, lowered ceilings, and messed up the insulation so badly that the walls trapped moisture. And remember the rat infestation we dealt with when we started this house? Well, the aftermath of that is still making itself known in some truly unpleasant ways. Join us as we tackle major structural work, uncover some grizzly surprises, and finally take the first steps toward making this space our own.
