Finally here is Crisis Zone without the smoke/fog screen! This is a 1 credit clear, no damage clear, playing the harder PS2 Version emulated with PCSX2, somehow scoring over 6.75 million points.
This is done using a patch which corrects the cross-hair value to the location of your mouse pointer, and this allows you to play with an Aimtrak or DolphinBar. I really wish this had been made in the past, but here it is!
I feel that removing the smoke screen is a massive improvement, as it makes it far easier to see the enemies and grenades, a bit like the arcade version of Crisis Zone. I've been able to improve my score more and more with this too. The only negative is that you can't use a GunCon this way, though if you are used to using an AimTrak / DolphinBar it isn't too bad.
To score high in Crisis Zone, you have to speedrun though the game, and also combo as many enemies as possible, a bit like scoring in Razing Storm. Hits on the head award slightly more points, but you have to weigh in the extra time taken to aim this way, as the time bonus is most likely more valuable.
The scoring calculations for the time bonus is unique to Crisis Zone. For every second gained, the amount awarded is more than the previous second, so some stages award bigger gains for being quicker than the others. The final stage awards the least increase of time bonus on the PS2 version.
This video was recorded using the PlayStation 2 version of Crisis Zone, which was released in 2004 by Namco. The PS2 version has changes from the arcade release, with updated graphics and some enemy pattern changes. The scoring is also changed, so scores can't be compared against the Arcade version.
