The pattern is posted on my community page.
I attempted my very first crocheted duster, or cardigan. Though I've been crocheting for many years, it's only been in the past couple years where I've ventured into clothing, or apparel.
My first attempt was sad. I used Joanne's Big Twist Tweed "Plum". I totally got my stitch count wrong, and if that wasn't awful enough, the bobble stitch used in the pattern was becoming increasingly painful to my left hand. I had to quit.
So I tried again. This time with a new yarn (my eyes needed a change) and easier pattern. The pattern was super pretty and simple, but had a tendency to "arc" or "fan out". I had to stop midstream with this one as well.
My third attempt, it was a success. With Premier Puzzle "Kickball", I used a very simple Closed V Stitch with 130+2 chains for my foundation row (pattern below). All the rows and edges turned out perfectly!
As i seamed it together, I became aware of my only error. My sizing was too large, which is way better than too small! Because I wanted longer sleeves, it added a lot of bulk to the waist if belted. Lesson learned.
I consider this cardigan a definite success with a grade of B (due to sizing). Not bad for my first time! I will most definitely be doing this duster again now that I have experience under my belt!
