So, I decided that rabbit hutches are for rabbits and built a quail mansion. The standard for Coturnix quail is 1 square foot per bird and this coop is 18sq ft which gives our dozen quail a lot more room. They already seem very happy with their new home. I've added some tree clippings to the coop because quail are ground birds and love to hide in the underbrush. I think it turned out pretty great.
