Greetings all! :D
In a strange case of being both an obscurity and a frequent sight, the Class 155 of 1987 was originally meant to do battle with the Class 156 for domination of the long-distance Sprinter market, but due to pervasive problems with their doors and engines, the units would fall rapidly out of favour and be replaced by 1990 with a variety of stock from other builders.
However, this wasn't the end for the units, as the decision was made to convert the two-car trains into single-car units, dubbed the Class 153, that would operate on both branchline services and main commuter corridors across the UK, providing a basic but versatile means of connecting some of the more remote destinations of Britain with the wider mainline network.
