Here is how I make stupid simple box joints that require no measuring or complicated jigs. Box joints always look fantastic, but they can be hard to get right. Here is my stupid simple method to cutting box joints that go together perfectly, but require no measuring. If you have watched my content for a while, you know that I make a lot of wood boxes. That’s because what you typically see on my channel are things for customers and people usually ask me to make them boxes. One thing that I haven’t covered is my stupid simple way of making box joints. I don’t do any measuring when I make box joint joinery. Everything is by eye. I use a stop block and flip the board from side to side so that no matter what I do, my joints are equal on the top and bottom of the box. I recommend giving this woodworking joint a try. It’s really simple and will give your box a really cool look. If you want to see a full box build video, check out the rosewood box that I made from wood salvaged from a fire. It uses similar box joints. https://youtu.be/_hC597IMpd4 https://youtu.be/YPJ7yRF759Q I’m confident that there are other ways to perform these tasks. This video is a glimpse into my shop and how I make things.
