The Cuyutlán lagoon, the largest in all of Colima.
Cuyutlán Lagoon is the largest in the state of Colima and one of the most important on the Mexican Pacific coast.
Its more than 7 thousand hectares form a biological corridor where crocodiles swim among the mangroves, which are home to hundreds of species of birds, both migratory and resident.
It borders to the North with Manzanillo Bay and to the South with the Armería River. It measures 37 km long and is separated from the coast by a volcanic sand bar only 6 km wide. Surfers and sea turtles come to the beautiful beaches of Cuyutlán, which are preserved in the Estero Palo Verde.
Thanks to the Colima lagoon, it has one of the best gastronomic options in Mexico. Shrimp grow in its waters and the famous Cuyutlán salt is produced.
