**SAFETY**
Industrial equipment like robots are often put in cages/fences. This isn't because they are evil and are just waiting to hurt you, it's because fences are a shotgun/catch-all solution to safety. They fully enclose most risks and are often the easiest solution, but not the only solution.
Proper risk analysis (ie. ISO 12100) and management (joint position, velocity, and torque limits, ramp-down stopping, safety lasers/light curtains, etc) can reduce the risk of a system, without a fence.
A robot arm is 6 motors, some castings, and a computer, not the terminator. They only do what they are told, and have multiple layers of safety added over top in case they don't. They can be very dangerous, but can also be made safe.

When your kids are too small to go to an amusement park, use a robot so they can ride any roller coaster they want!
