Cappellini, founded in Italy in 1946 as a woodworking furniture workshop, initially focused on in-house design and production. However, in 1977, under the leadership of Giulio Cappellini, the son of founder Enrico Cappellini, the company took a significant turn in its direction. Transitioning from in-house design and manufacturing, it evolved into a designer furniture company specializing in pieces created by external designers.
Through numerous collaborations with prominent designers, Cappellini transformed into a world-class design company. Its unique creations have become part of the permanent collections of prestigious museums such as MoMA (Museum of Modern Art) in New York, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Victoria and Albert Museum. Today, Cappellini is renowned globally as a leading interior design brand.
Japanese designer Daisuke Kitagawa created the Floe series of customizable, functional living room tables with glass tops that users can reposition freely. The tables, available in two sizes, have a lightweight appearance with a chrome metal frame and mirror-finished base, mimicking floating icebergs with their reflective design.
