Prior to 2001, Dodge used drum brakes on the rear axle of the Ram pickups. For 2003 and newer, they switched to an AAM rear axle that had disc brakes. Realizing this difference, Kenneth chose to source a 2003 Dodge Single Rear Wheel (SRW) Dana 80 axle with a manual transmission from a Dodge Ram. These disc brakes also make getting factory parts much easier.
Then he upgraded those brakes to even newer, bigger parts, using Power Stop's KC5590-36 Rear Z 36 Truck and Tow Brake Kit with Brake Rotors and Pads with Calipers for a 2006-2008 Ram. Note that this does require 17" rims to get the proper clearance.
Kenneth also chose to rebuild the hubs, using standard parts for this axle.
