Robby, the Dance Ninja, was standing in (dancing in) for Madeline the Magnificent. This class we learned about splicing different moves and expressions into the Sugar Push and the Whip...the two main building blocks of WCS. We added pauses and playful gestures, the recipe for cooking up good WCS. The pause might be called the spice of this recipe and is essentially a moment of stillness that enhances the flow of the dance and gives contrast to the over all movement, all the while increasing a certain sensitivity to both the construction and meaning of the music. What a month it was! Thanks Robby and Madeline and to Clark and to Amy for valuable assistance. What a team!
