Fourth and final season of Atlanta is rolling, here's a little tribute to my favorite character and what he brings to, as Donald Glover says, "the best show since the Sopranos". Wanted to give Lakeith Stanfield his flowers before the show comes to pass. Like a few other essays on here, Lakeith and Darius capture that messy absurdism, optimistic nihilism combo I love in art perfectly. And more than that I wanted to show how his character actually serves as a way to ground the audience and the show when it veers in and out of surrealism by giving a baseline of weirdness. Shoutout Darius, excited to see how this story ends.
