If you haven’t been living under a rock these past couple of weeks, you would have probably heard of Dark & Darker. This Medieval Fantasy themed, First Person, Dungeon Crawling game where you and possibly 2 others are tasked with exploring a dungeon has taken off over the last few months. It's managing to consistently top over 100,000 concurrent players on Steam even with high profile titles such as Hogwarts Legacy releasing at the same time, and 10s of thousands are falling victim to the unmitigated joy of bashing people over the head with an Axe whilst they’re looting.
But why are people getting so addicted to this game? What is Dark & Darker, and is it actually as dark as they say? Well, to answer that, we’ll need to delve deeper into the dungeon, uncover the answers we seek, and maybe even learn how Dark & Darker could be the future of Early Access games.
