Dartmoor National Park in Devon is famous for its wide open moorland landscapes. Large areas of the park are completely uninhabited and moorland grasslands stretch as far as the eye can see. However, there is so much more to this National Park than open, treeless landscapes. The valleys and gorges in the south and east of the park host large areas of ancient woodlands, some of which are internationally important, as Dartmoor hosts 3 out of the 5 high altitude oak woodlands in the UK. This film is a short documentary focusing on five woodlands across Dartmoor and why they are so special. This film was shot exclusively on a Sony A7iii during the spring, summer and autumn of 2021.
