Dave King Being a Drumming GENIUS for 2 Hours Straight
I will be a drum nerd here for a minute and just tell you, Dave King has been and still is one of my top 3 favorite drummers of all time. I had the opportunity to take a lesson from him when his touring schedule was sparse and I just knew I had to have him as a guest artist for my Drum Better Daily students. What you're watching is a recording of the live call where my students got to ask Dave questions and pick his brain.
Dave King a drummer from Minneapolis. He is known for being a founding member of the jazz groups The Bad Plus (with Reid Anderson and Ethan Iverson) and Happy Apple (with Michael Lewis and Erik Fratzke) although he is active in many other projects including free jazz collective Buffalo Collision with NYC "downtown" musicians Tim Berne and Hank Roberts and the electronic art/pop group Halloween, Alaska, as well as the noise/prog band The Gang Font with former Hüsker Dü bassist Greg Norton, and jazz quintet Dave King Trucking Company.
