We stayed in Hongdae for our first three nights in South Korea, and the vibrant atmosphere made for a great start to our trip.
On our first day, we visited Seoul Station to adjust our KTX tickets to Busan. Although we booked them online with no issues, I wanted to change our seats, so I was advised to drop by the station. Thankfully, it was convenient since our accommodation was nearby.
We’ll also show you how we used the WOWPASS card for payments. WOWPASS offers the best exchange rates, but finding one close to your location can be a bit tricky, as they’re not widely available at every station.
Next, we headed to the Starfield Library in COEX Mall. It was an adventure finding the place! The GPS initially led us to a different location, and we almost gave up. But I insisted it had to be nearby, so we kept walking—and eventually, we found it! Ironically, it was quite close to where we started, but the GPS led us astray.
After exploring COEX Mall, we visited Goto Mall for some shopping. It’s just two alleys, but they’re long and filled with stores! We arrived in the late afternoon, so it was crowded. If you plan to visit, I recommend going during work or school hours for a less hectic experience and easier transportation.
We ended our day by roaming around Hongdae, soaking in the lively vibe of the neighborhood.
