Video Not Working? Fix It Now

Former dropout and gang member, currently a Professor of Sociology at the University of California at Santa Barbara, author of Punished: Policing the Lives of Black and Latino Boys. Dr. Rios discusses his research in juvenile justice and the policing of America's schools, specifically the school-to-prison pipeline. He also talks about youth who are "pushed out" of school, rather than dropping out, and outreach efforts in that area. This video was produced by KET as a part of, "Dropping Back In", a series focusing on America's dropout crisis sharing inspiring true stories of learners who dropped out, dropped back in, and got their lives turned around. Dropping Back In is part of American Graduate: Let's make it happen.
