Doctrine and Covenants 20-22 teaches us about the organization of Jesus Christ’s Church. In these sections, we learn that Joseph Smith received revelation about how the Church should be set up, including the importance of baptism and the Sacrament. Jesus wants His Church to follow His teachings and help people come closer to Him.
We also learn that when we get baptized, we make a promise to follow Jesus and keep His commandments. In return, He blesses us with His Spirit to guide us.
In Section 22, the Lord explains that baptism must be done by the right authority. This reminds us that Jesus’ Church is organized the way He wants it to be.
