With shows like Batman: The Animated series and the rest of the DCAU, or straight to video movies like Under the Red Hood or Justice League: Doom. It was a common consensus that DC’s animated stuff was, frankly, unmatched for over a decade. They sort of lost that reputation as of late, with weird hit or miss movies in their animated connected universes. But I think now it seems like they’re making a comeback. You have Batman: Caped Crusader, My Adventures with Superman, the trailer for Creature Commandos looks great, and the announcement of a Blue Beetle animated series has me really excited for animation in this new DCU. I fully believe that animation is the best medium for comicbook adaptations. As much as I love the live action interpretations, there’s so much more that animation can do for these stories. And there are so many great characters that have never gotten an animated series and can thrive in that setting. Either as a part of the new James Gunn DCU or as their own thing. And so here are some DC characters that deserve an animated series.
