A miner loses his wife to a werewolf attack and becomes consumed by grief. Desperate to undo her death, he uncovers a forbidden ritual involving a jade mask said to bring back the dead. Against the town’s warnings, he performs the ritual and successfully revives her—but something is terribly wrong. His wife returns twisted and violent, and when the townsfolk retaliate, he unleashes more dark magic to seek revenge. The jade sword he forges gives him terrible power, but also a terrible cost: everyone he kills rises again. As the town is overrun by zombies, he realizes his mistake and seals away the cursed artifacts in the mines, vowing that no one must ever find them again.
