🔥 Does God Exist? Dr. Graham Oppy Responds! 🔥
In this thought-provoking episode, we sit down with renowned philosopher Graham Oppy to tackle some of the biggest arguments for and against the existence of God! 🧠💡
🔹 Ontological Argument – What does Oppy think of Joshua Rasmussen's latest version? 🤔 Even if it doesn’t prove God, does it at least show that theism is rational?
🔹 Kalam Cosmological Argument – Does Oppy accept the causal principle? 🚀 What are the strongest objections? Can we conclude the universe had a cause, and what would that cause be like?
🔹 Moral Argument – Does Richard Swinburne’s moral awareness argument hold up? ⚖️ What about Plantinga’s evolutionary argument against naturalism?
🔹 Fine-Tuning Argument – What’s the best explanation for the universe’s fine-tuning? 🌌 Could this argument at least support deism?
🔹 Contingency Argument – What’s the strongest defeater for this argument? 🏗️
🔹 Jesus’ Resurrection – What really happened? Is there a naturalistic explanation for the historical evidence? ✝️
🔹 Argument from Miracles – Are all reported miracles just hallucinations, coincidences, or delusions? Or do some genuinely point to a divine cause? 🌟
🔹 Problem of Evil – Can deontological skeptical theism or cosmic conflict theodicy resolve the problem of evil? 🏴☠️
🔹 Arguments for Atheism – Besides the problem of evil, what other reasons suggest theism is false? 🚫
🔹 Personal Experience as Evidence – Is it rational to believe in God just because of a personal experience? 👀

Biography: Dr. Graham Oppy is a Professor of Philosophy and a member of the Australian Academy of Humanities. He has been working at Monash University for the past twenty-five years, teaching mostly philosophy of religion, metaphysics, and logic. His current courses include God, Freedom and Evil, Metaphysics, and Philosophy of Religion. Prior to his appointment at Monash, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Philosophy Program in the Research School for the Social Sciences at the Australian National University in Canberra. Before that, he was a Lecturer at the University of Wollongong (no, Bruce, not Woolloomooloo). He wrote his doctoral dissertation at Princeton University under the supervision of Gil Harman, focusing on questions in the philosophy of language. Before that, he was an undergraduate student at Melbourne University, where he completed two degrees: a BA with a major in philosophy and a B.Sc with a major in mathematics (and a minor in physics). Born in Benalla (pop. 8,000), his family moved to Ballarat (pop. 80,000) when he was six, and they were still living there when he began attending Melbourne University. Raised in a Methodist household, he ceased to be a religious believer in his early teenage years. His research interests span a wide range of questions about religion, and he has done extensive work on arguments concerning the existence of God.
