Deep Winter Camping - BWCA

The Upper Midwest Crew takes on a 3 day sub-freezing deep winter camping adventure in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area (BWCA) in the Superior National Forest. Due to deep snow and very heavy pulks, our mileage was low. On this trip, I spent my first nights in a hot tent. We spent a lot of time gathering wood, processing wood, exploring, eating, campfires, and general shennanigans. We explored the pictographs, old Native American paintings, on North Hegman Lake and dealt with some slush due to unseasonably warm temperatures. It was a great adventure and I look forward to more winter camping.
