//RECIPE//
- 1 ham bone (for broth base)
- 14 cups water
- 2 cups chopped ham (from the ham bone if possible)
- 2 cups Ditalini Pasta (Barilla works best for me)
- 1 can tomato paste
- One 23 oz can tomato soup
- 1 can Cannellini beans (drain the liquid)
- 2 med yellow onions (chopped)
- 1.5 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1 tsp Garlic powder
- 1 tsp Onion powder
- Black pepper to taste
- 3 tbs Fresh chopped parsley (optional)
*Side Note; This recipe is for a full pot of Soup, adjust accordingly if you plan to make less than that. But I would NOT use more as it may end up being too full.
//INSTRUCTIONS//
*Fill Foodi base pot with 14 cups of water. Add in your ham bone with any ham chunks going along with it. Apply Pressure cooking lid, put valve in the seal position. Pressure Cook on HI for 35 minutes followed by a 10 minute natural release then quick release the remaining steam. During this time prep your onions, parsley etc. Once done, Remove the ham bone and any chunks. set aside to "cool". Turn your Foodi on to Sear/Saute HI. Into the broth, add in your tomato paste, whisk well, and add in your tomato soup. Mix. Add in your onions, beans, stir, and add in all your seasonings. Give a nice mix and taste the broth to make sure its to your liking, (hold off on any salt as we have not added in the ham yet). While waiting for your soup to come to a boil, start scrapping away at your ham bone, cut any large chucks to bite sized pieces and add or remove any fat/skin desired. Once your soup has come to a Boil, reduce the heat to Lo. Take all your ham and deposit into your soup, stir, and Lastly pour in your pasta. You want to continuously stir about 10-15 minutes when you add in your pasta to avoid any "sticking". Let simmer another 15 or so minutes until pasta is cooked, Once pasta has reached your desire doneness, soup is done. Serve immediately. Remove from heat once its done, otherwise the soup will continue to thicken and pasta may continue cooking. Enjoy! :)
