*ArduCam* have put together some really great products! The *Arduino-based C libraries* are extensive and easy to use. Being the Pico fans we are we decided to put together a basic camera driver for *Raspberry Pi Pico* - how hard could it be!?
This started Liam on a week-long journey of logic sniffing and hair pulling as he dove into what it takes to port an Arduino Library to *MicroPython.* He saw everything! From quirks like *dummy bytes* to undocumented *white-balance* behaviour. As OEMs, we get it though! When you release a product into the wild you have no idea what people are going to get up to with it - often the best you can do is release the official library and hope users don't want to stray off the garden path. And stray we did! 😀
