"Dharani for Eliminating All Diseases" comes from "The Sutra of Dharani for Eliminating All Diseases", which was translated by Amoghavajra in the Tang Dynasty. This Dharani Sutra mainly tells the story of how Shakyamuni Buddha told Ananda about the Dharani that can cure all diseases in the world in the elder's garden at the Jetavana Grove in Sravasti. It is recorded in the sutra that if someone recites and holds this Dharani, it can cure diseases such as indigestion, cholera, jaundice, phlegm, warts, hemorrhoids, fistulas, stranguria, upper respiratory tract cough, cold and heat headache, and possession by ghosts. The Buddha further observed with the Buddha's eye that if someone recites and upholds this Dharani, then the gods, demons, Brahmas, ascetics, and Brahmins will not be able to hinder them.
