डॉ. पारस, एक प्रतिभाशाली युवा डॉक्टर प्लेग के प्रकोप को आसपास के गांवों में फैलने से रोकने के लिए एक ग्रामीण गांव का दौरा करते हैं। उसे लज्जो नाम की लड़की से प्यार हो जाता है। प्लेग के रोगियों का सफलतापूर्वक इलाज करने के बाद, पारस वापस लौटने और लज्जो से शादी करने के वादे के साथ शहर के लिए निकल जाता है। जबकि एक मासूम लज्जो अपने प्रेमी के घर लौटने का इंतजार कर रही है, गांव वालों ने उस पर व्यभिचार का आरोप लगाया और उसे बेरहमी से पीटा, जिसके परिणामस्वरूप वह अंधी हो गई। पारस को उसके पिता ने डॉ. मंजू से शादी करने के लिए कहा। देखिए क्या होता है जब डॉ. पारस अपनी मंगेतर डॉ. मंजू के साथ लज्जो का इलाज करने और उसकी आंखों की रोशनी वापस लाने का फैसला करते हैं।

Dr. Paras, a bright young doctor visits a rural village to prevent an outbreak of plague from spreading to the nearby villages. He falls in love with a girl named Lajjo. After successfully treating the plague patients, Paras leaves for the city with the promise to return and marry Lajjo. While an innocent Lajjo awaits her lover's homecoming, the villagers accuse her of adultery and beat her senselessly resulting in her blindness. Paras is asked to marry Dr. Manju by his father. Watch what happens when Dr. Paras along with his fiancee Dr. Manju decide to treat Lajjo and restore her eyesight.
