The PlayStation Network was down for almost 24 hours recently, and unfortunately Sony didn't give much of a reason as to why it was down - basically just "technical difficulties." So I had a thought... the PS3 store has been pretty crappy for a while and it was actually supposed to shut down 3+ years ago - maybe this outage had some sort of negative effect on the PS3 store and online experience? Not sure, so let's find out!
Overall, just another reason that the "online only" future is looking rough... back in the day, you could pop a disc in the disc drive and just play. Nowadays, so many games require an online connection to play at all - if that connection is disrupted then too bad! You can't play your game.
