In the midst of the build of this Stihl 026, I wanted to covey my way of considering chainsaw port timing, port size, and port shape using the similarities between 2 stroke and 4 stroke engines. While, the comparisons may not hold-up in a court of law, I hope it help to give an “aha moment” to 4-stroke people (such as me) to get the gray matter churning. I intend to build this chainsaw to be a sporty firewood saw focusing (a little) more on torque than high RPMs It should eventually make a nice saw for sawing fire wood with a good power-to-weight ratio. In the next steps, we will be preparing to port the intake and port/polish the exhaust as well as adjust the squish and transfers. Subscribe to continue to see Chainsaw porting and modifications, how me make Firewood, run the Sawmill, Bale Hay, tend to our Sheep, Hogs, Cattle, Peacocks, Chickens, Guineas, and Doggos. You will also see me making gadgets, tools, and other stuff to make farmlife easier on this homestead. I don't waste much of anything... especially money. If there is a way to do something cheaper or easier, I'm searching for it.
