The Australian Columnist Adam Creighton has warned US ownership of Gaza would pose a “difficult task” and could incite terrorism as well as the “loss of soldiers.”
The United States president declared the country will ‘own’ and rebuild Gaza for Palestinians alongside Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in a joint press conference on Tuesday local time.
“I can’t see it happening personally,” Mr Creighton told Sky News host Gabriella Power.
“I think it’s going to be very hard for the US to take ownership of Gaza unless it wants to endure loss of soldiers … there will obviously be terrorism if they try to take it and it’s going to be very difficult to forcibly remove two million people … it’s a very difficult task.”
