In this deep-dive on digital twins, Celonis chief scientist Wil van der Aalst shares examples of how the under-appreciated, reliable digital representations of entities or systems can reflect physical objects, processes or – far in the future – entire organizations. Wil also explores how digital twins can be exploited to understand, predict and improve operational processes. Using examples from industries including aviation, industry 4.0 and healthcare, Wil examines hybrid intelligence as a means of combining machine and human intelligence to deal with disruptions in processes.
