In this butterfly gardening video, we start off collecting host plant cuttings for the Giant Swallowtail caterpillars. Then I share a story about a failed rescue attempt of a caterpillar as we walk through my garden and look at butterflies. Next, I assemble all of those new raised planters I bought, and we make use of a few of them in a potted flower bed make over. I love the way the planters make my potted flower garden so much more accessible. And, of course we see lots of butterflies and find some caterpillars. Butterfly gardening is just the best hobby. I love it.
My hope for my channel is that it inspires many people to plant a butterfly garden so we can get more habitat back on our planet and give these beautiful creatures a place to rest their wings, lay their eggs and find nutrient rich nectar. I also hope that you get to learn more about different caterpillars and butterflies that live in your area so that you can design a butterfly garden so they will visit your garden. It’s a beautiful thing.
