🔧 What You'll Need:
- Hario Switch Brewer
- 25g of coffee (medium-coarse grind)
- Kettle (90°C water)
- Paper filter (cone-shaped)
- Scale
- Carafe (to hold your brew)
- Cup (to enjoy your coffee!)
☕ Step-by-Step Brewing Guide:
1️⃣ Prepare Your Equipment
- Set your kettle to 90°C.
- Place a cone-shaped paper filter into the Hario Switch (switch CLOSED).
- Rinse the filter to remove paper taste and preheat the brewer. Discard rinse water.
2️⃣ Grind and Add Coffee
- Grind 25g of coffee to a medium-coarse setting.
- Add ground coffee to the brewer and shake gently to level the bed.
3️⃣ First Pour (0:00 - 1:00)
- Start your timer and pour 200g of water in a circular motion, working from the outside in.
- Keep the switch CLOSED to allow immersion brewing.
4️⃣ Open the Switch (1:00 - 1:30)
- At 1-minute mark, OPEN the switch to allow water to drain.
- Once most of the water drains, close the switch again.
5️⃣ Second Pour (1:30 - 2:00)
- Pour an additional 100g of water, bringing the total to 300g.
- Let it steep with the switch CLOSED.
6️⃣ Final Pour (2:30)
- OPEN the switch and pour the final 100g of water.
- Allow it to drain completely, then close the switch to prevent drips.
7️⃣ Serve & Enjoy
- Swirl your coffee in the carafe to mix flavors evenly.
- Pour into your cup and enjoy a balanced, full-bodied brew!
