Gary C and I are in Cozumel, Mexico for the first port day of our Disney Treasure Western Caribbean cruise! We start the day with room service breakfast and a surprise sighting of the Disney Magic docking alongside us—marking the first time I’ve ever seen two Disney Cruise Line ships next to each other. After disembarking at Port Punta Langosta, we set off on a Disney Cruise Line Port Adventure to Mrs. Martha’s Bee Farm—an excursion we booked directly through Disney for added peace of mind. The tour includes learning about bee conservation, honey production, and the importance of local agriculture in Cozumel. We also get to taste fresh honey, sample local salsas, and make our own chocolate in a hands-on workshop. This excursion is both educational and delicious, offering an authentic cultural experience while supporting local efforts to save bee populations.

During the tour, we discover how Melipona bees (a stingless species native to the Yucatán Peninsula) play a vital role in pollination. We also sample various locally made salsas—including some with a serious kick—and take part in a tamale tasting. The excursion is thoughtfully designed, offering shaded seating at each station, and culminates with a visit to the gift shop, where you can purchase locally produced honey, chocolate, and other handmade goods. Back on board, I enjoy a relaxing hour in the Rainforest Room at the Senses Spa, while Gary spends time meeting Captain Mickey, Genie, and other characters around the ship.
Later in the afternoon, we explore more of the Disney Treasure, including the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique and Shutters photo gallery, before stopping at the Haunted Mansion Parlor for themed drinks and to check out the exclusive merchandise. The bar’s immersive atmosphere, complete with ghostly special effects, is not to be missed!
For dinner, we dine at 1923, one of the ship’s three main rotational dining venues, inspired by the golden age of Hollywood and Disney’s early years. The menu offers a variety of options, and while some dishes land better than others, the elegant setting and extensive artwork make for a memorable evening.
Tomorrow, we’ll be arriving in Grand Cayman, where we’ll experience tendering for the first time on this cruise. Be sure to subscribe and turn on 🔔 notifications to join us for the rest of our Disney Treasure cruise series. For more updates between vlogs, follow me on Instagram: @adamhattan
