I explain the fundamental approach to finding the equation of a line in vector form in 3 space. This line is perpendicular to two given lines and intersects them both. This question then leads to a nice bonus of finding the closest distance between the two given lines. To solve this question we also do a little work of solving a three variable three linear system of equations.
