In this week’s episode, our plans to continue assembling the engine of our Prince Charming 3.0L 306DT EU6 Discovery 4 took an unexpected turn! While we were set to work on the engine, Vera received a surprise gift package addressed to her. Distracted by the unboxing of an amazing array of Land Rover gifts—including a set of Milwaukee power tools—the focus shifted for a while.
Since the power tool charger came from the US with a 120VAC plug that isn’t compatible with German outlets, I (Christian) quickly modified the charger's electric circuit. I walk you through the process: analyzing the circuit board, hunting down the replacement component in our basement (just as anyone would), and successfully adapting the charger for local use. Now, our US power tools are ready for action!
But that’s not all—we also take you on a mini-tour of our old house’s basement, showing before and after pictures of our recent remodel. It’s a trip down memory lane that highlights how far we’ve come.
Finally, I get back to our engine project. I measure the piston protrusion to determine the head gasket thickness, and I explain every detail of the process on this Gen2 306DT EU6 engine.
