DIY Drum Sander Build Powered By a Drill

Video Not Working? Fix It Now

This is my DYI drum sander build, I have been trying to get another video loaded up in my new work space and thought this would be perfect to share. I have used a smaller sander set up for veneer and other projects but wanted a bigger version of the drill drum sander for a while. After watching a few Drum sander builds this is what I came up with. Here is a list of materials that I used on this project:

3/4 Plywood 2’x4’ plus some 3/8 ply scrape that I had

1/2” all thread and 1/2” 4 nuts

1/4” all thread and 1/4” nuts and washers (8 each)

1/4” Rod Coupling Nut (4)

4x39” Sand paper (80grit)

Wood workers two sided tape

Heavy duty 1/2 drill (1200 rpm)

1x12x24” Shelving board

1.5” hinges (2)

5 min epoxy

1/2” bearings (4)

Wood glue, dry wall screws, nails
