DIY Macramé Heart Keychain | Step by Step Tutorial

These macramé keychains are not only beautiful and functional, but they are super sturdy too! Practice self love by making one of these for yourself, or make matching sets for you and your bestie, partner, mom, etc! This pattern heavily features the diagonal clove hitch knot (aka double half hitch knot, you may notice me using the terms interchangeably in the video). This is one of the more challenging knots to learn for beginners, so if you're having trouble I recommend practicing the knots on some scrap string or yarn to get the hang of it. I also have a video dedicated to the 3 different clove hitch variations if you'd like to get a closer look at the knot.

This pattern should work for string anywhere from 3-5mm in size, but for this tutorial I'm using my 5mm single twist string in the color: natural. Find this color and more here:
