Hi friends! 😊
This was my very first attempt at creating something using the English Paper Piecing (EPP) technique. And wow, it wasn’t as easy as I thought - but the process was an amazing adventure! I broke a few rules here. Normally, you’d use a fabric glue stick or thread baste the pieces together individually, but I didn’t have glue on hand. So, I just pressed them in place with an iron instead!"🧵✨
Along the way, I had to get creative: resizing diamonds, turning rectangles into trapezoids, and making adjustments on the go. My fabric pattern ended up being a bit larger than the design in my book, so I had to modify things as I went. But that’s part of the fun, right?
Here’s what I ended up with:
🔹12 diamonds measuring 3,5 x 3,5 cm / 1.4" x 1.4" with seam allowance 0,7сm/0.3"
🔹1 hexagon measuring 5 cm / 2"
🔹6 rectangles measuring 7x 9 x 6,5 cm/ 2.8" x 3.5" x 2.6", which I turned into trapezoids
❢ About seam allowance, no one is going to notice the seam allowances but you ) So, my was 0,7 cm / 0.3”. The main thing is that there was enough fabric for the twist.
🌟You’ll see all the steps in the video, and I hope it inspires you to try EPP too!
Enjoy watching, and don’t forget to share your thoughts and experiences with EPP in the comments. I’d love to hear from you! 🧵💬
