I restore this 1960's mens BSA town bike, from a tired, rusty and pretty much unusable bike it now has a new lease of life and looking and riding like it should.
I stripped the bike down, stripped the paint and cleaned all the rust away, I used Halfords Ford Royal Blue spray paint as I wanted to match the original colour and using car paint means you can get a good idea of the final finish.
95% of the parts I managed to restore by cleaning with wire wool, rust removing liquid, a wire wheel or brush and polished it all with a buffing wheel.
The parts I did replace were the brake levers as the chrome had come off too much on one side, the clips to hold the brake cable in place, and the brake cables themselves are new. I got new nuts and washers for the wheels and new grips for the handlebars.
I hope you enjoy watching, I really enjoyed working on this bike and if you can, get out on your bike, enjoy the fresh air and have fun!
More restorations to come this year so please subscribe!
